Well, I am back…at least for a little while. Here’s what’s been cracking in the life of the Pate’s.
Chris: I have been crazy busy. I don’t mind being busy. I actually enjoy it most of the time. Lately, I have been writing our Christmas production ( I hate that word by the way. I only call it a production because I will spend about 100 hours on it just in getting the stage prepared in the last 2 weeks). We are doing our Christmas production on, believe it or not, the song “Where are you Christmas?” from the Grinch with Jim Carrey. Anyhow…my mind is constantly preoccupied by it. The wheels are always turning and I am honestly wondering if I bit off a little more than I can chew on this one. The good news is that it will be over in 3 months from today actually.
Mandy: Mandy is the best wife I could have ever hoped for. She is currently staying at home chilling with the baby. When I say chilling…I don’t mean she’s relaxing. I have learned that it is no small task to take care of a baby.
Raegan Marie: Well…she is busy being cute.
Found this pretty interesting article on Barack Obama’s long lost brother, actually half-brother. His name is George Hussein Onyango Obama and he lives in a small shack on the outskirts of Nairobi, Kenya. He lives on less than a dollar a month.

Interesting note: The Illinois senator mentions his brother in his autobiography, describing him in just one passing paragraph as a “beautiful boy with a rounded head”.
This past weekend, I performed my very first wedding as a pastor for Mr. & Mrs. Jeremy Breedlove (that last name is awesome). Anyhow, after the wedding we went down to Winthrop University for the reception. Winthrop has a beautiful campus and a great hall for receptions. I was really impressed by the facilities, but I was most impressed by the chef for the reception. The chef was none other than the runner-up for the hit show Hell’s Kitchen…Chef Petrozza.
Some of you may not care, but as an avid viewer of this awesome show…I was happy as all get out to eat some of this man’s food and I pigged out. I had some of the best Mac & Cheese and Chicken Alfredo ever tasted on this planet. Here’s a picture of me with the Chef. As you can see, he was as equally excited to meet Pastor Chris Pate (that’s right…I am famous too). Needless to say, I think I gained 10 lbs that night.

Now that Raegan is here, I have had to face one of my deep fears of being a dad…dirty diapers. Many dads have told me that it isn’t that bad when it is your own child’s poop you are cleaning up and believe it or not…it is true. I think I have actually enjoyed cleaning up Raegan…even after a nasty one. Never thought I’d say that, but I guess it’s like my chance to take care of her and let her know that I love her. Now if I can only get a hold of one of these…
