So, I got our church involved in an Industrial Softball League (mistake #1 – not a church league) hosted by the city. We have 25 guys on the roster (that’s right 25 people – in case you don’t know, only 10 players can play at a time). This means that at any given point, at any given game, there could be as many as 15 players on the bench (that’s a whole ‘nother team – that makes mistake #2). The good news is that if we ever get in a fight, at least we’ll have them out numbered (great idea #1 – making mistake #1 & #2 okay). The first practice went well though. We have a few home run hitters, a few great arms, and one sexy dude (me!). We have 2 more practices before our highly anticipated first game on April the 28th. Hopefully, the Church boys can show the Heathens how to play the game of Softball and maybe spread the good news of Christ at the same time.
PS. I also made the team a website for them to keep up with the current team news, games, practices. Check it out here.
